LEICESTER manager Stewart Dickson has had his final say on the 2024 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season.
The Watling JCB Lions are the subject of this week’s Track Review in Speedway Star magazine dated w/e December 7.
It contains an in-depth interview with the Lions boss, including how he always expected the team to be capable of the run of form they produced in the summer.
He said: “We hit what I don’t call the purple patch – we hit the standards which I expected from the word go, and it came during the middle of the season.
“I know people were saying we were riding above ourselves, but for me they were doing what I expected them to during July and August, and it was what we should have been doing.
“That form then took us one win away from finishing top of the league, that’s how close we were. If we could just have started a little earlier on the form we should have started on, we would have finished top.”
Dickson also discusses individual riders, some of the great away wins of 2024, the disappointment of the Grand Final, and the positive atmosphere at the club.
